Simon trained at Ernst & Young before leaving the profession to work as a financial controller and then finance director in a variety of businesses from an international recruitment consultancy and a software developer to a homeware’s retailer as well as in the financial services, legal and hospitality sectors.
He has now spent more than twenty-five years as an FD in growing private companies and non-profit/charity organisations, with sales of between £1m and £360m and has a proven record of accomplishment in devising financial controls, restructuring processes, and developing teams, including the recruitment and development of both finance and operational teams.
Deft at analysing issues, developing optimal solutions, and driving improved profitability he is flexible in responding to constantly changing organisational demands and in the development and implementation of management information systems. Simon also has significant experience of transactions, including management buyouts, finance raising, acquisitions and disposals.
